Crypto Miner Bit Digital Steigt um 26% nach Tausch von Bitcoin gegen Ether

Bit Digital (BTBT) hat nun über 100.000 Ether (ETH) in seinem Besitz, nachdem es seine Bitcoin-Bestände umgetauscht und zusätzlich 172 Millionen Dollar Kapital aufgenommen hat, um noch mehr der weltweit zweitgrößten Kryptowährung zu erwerben. Zum Ende März hielt Bit Digital 24.434 ETH, nun sind es etwa 100.603 ETH (189,2 Millionen Dollar), was das Unternehmen zu einem der größten ETH-Inhaber im Unternehmensbereich macht, wie es am Montag mitteilte.

Last month, Bit Digital announced its strategic shift to focus exclusively on ETH staking, a decision that was not entirely surprising given the increasingly challenging conditions faced by bitcoin miners since the last halving event. Ether staking involves locking up ETH to secure the network and earn rewards. Stakers validate transactions and create new blocks, generating a passive income. The quadrennial halving event reduces the reward for adding new blocks to the Bitcoin network by 50%, significantly impacting miners' revenue despite any potential BTC price rallies.

BTBT-Aktien stiegen am Montag um 26% auf 3,71 Dollar. Sie wurden kurz nach der Ankündigung des Ether-Fokus Ende Juni bei etwa 2 Dollar gehandelt.
